Ecoglo’s Glow-In-The-Dark Stair Treads

In the event of power failure, glow-in-the-dark stair treads allow for visibility when attempting to exit a building. Ecoglo® has created these adhesive strips that glow after absorbing light from any source and re-emitting it as a glowing light.

These glow-in-the-dark stair treads take around 20 minutes to charge and in turn stay lit for hours afterwards. They are placed along the edge of steps so people can see exactly where to step and find their way in the dark. Ecoglo calls these glow-in-the-dark stair treads high visibility photoluminescent stair treads. It makes them perfect for theatre aisles, emergency stairs and large stadiums. The other benefit to Ecoglo’s glow-in-the-dark stair treads is the non-slip surface that is also durable. When walking in darker areas, people don’t need to worry about slipping and falling because they can not only see exactly where to step, but can also have sure footing. The strips will also last for up to 30 years when used indoors, a significant increased when compared to traditional lighting.

Ecoglo’s glow-in-the-dark stair treads are most useful in stadiums and theatres when people need to leave their seats during or after a show, at which time the auditorium is often dark. There is less worry of someone finding their way in and out of the auditorium because the glow-in-the-dark stair treads allow for a bright walkway to follow.

Glow-in-the-dark stair treads are already being used in various theatres, stadiums and buildings across the world to increase safety in the light and the dark. Safety is greatly increased when the treads are used, especially in emergency situations.
